Kheeli Khoshmaze (héél lekker) - Vers van de Pers Food

Kheeli Khoshmaze (very tasty)

When our test panel Wortel Wonder tasted it for the first time, they looked at each other in amazement for a moment, and then a smile appeared. “How delicious!”, someone shouted. Then another curiously asked: “How do you say ‘very delicious’ in Farsi?”

The answer: kheeli khoshmaze.
From that moment on, it became the word of the day. With every bite, an enthusiastic “kheeli khoshmaze!” echoed through the test kitchen.

We hope that you, just like our panel, will also find your first, second and every bite after that of Wortel Wonder kheeli khoshmaze.
And because it’s fun to be able to say it too, here’s a mini Farsi lesson:

Literal translation:

  • Kheeli = very, extremely
  • Khosh = nice, delicious, good, pleasant
  • Maze = taste

So together it means: “a very nice taste.”

This is how you pronounce it:

  • Kh in kheeli = like the g in “good”
  • Sh in khosh = like sh in “Sherlock”
  • A in maze = like in “Jack”, so somewhere between an A and an E

How do you pronounce it?

So… now it’s your turn!
Practice saying 'kheeli khoshmaze' out loud for a moment and then taste a spoonful of Wortel Wonder.
Do you and your taste buds also find it kheeli khoshmaze?
Then share your moment or your best pronunciation with us on Instagram or TikTok. We’d love to hear your version of “very delicious”!
